Musical confluence are the flavour of the season these these days. While you could find fusion and musical soirees like east meets west, this one held in city recently was perhaps the first of its kind. Held at Punjab kala Bhawan, sector 16, recently, Punjabi folk performers shared stage with western classical musicians from the group, Singco, a choir group from Texas, USA.

The Punjabi folk groups comprised Meer Des Raj Lachkani, a groups Sufi-Dhadi singers, Darshan Singh and Party, Been-Baja Musician group and group and dancers and Jogi Kashinath. Wind instruments, flute and snake charmer been, etc, were all part of ths melange that enthralled the audience with their perfomances.

The Choir group comprised Army Aquino,Justin Jones,Jacob Walker,Alex Lach and Gurkaran Singh young students in the age group of 16-18 years from Houston, Texas. They performed a variety of music from their repertoire, spanning from opera to a-cappela renditions of contemporary songs. A-cappela music is a relatively uncommon genre in India and involves singing without accompaniment.

Among other recognitions the performers have been selected to the texas (TPSMEA) All-State choir multiple times.

This evening of unique sounds, left the city audiences thrilled to bits.

Good morning everybody,

As you know this year Chandigarh was so cold as never before. As we like to enjoy the fog in evening time, thats feel us like we are living at any hill station.

Yesterday was the coldest day of our city. The temperature not goes up 10 degree. This year winter is breaking its own old records. This Saturday was the coldest day of the January in last ten years. Condition is that there is less difference between maximum and minimum temperature. Sun tries to clear fog but its fail all the time.

People face cold breeze and fog in the morning, 10 am temperature is just 10 degree. On 11 January 1999 city recorded is 8.2 degree, so there 1.2 degree difference in that.

Due to dense fog the city traffic was slow, most of people like to be stay in home and enjoying hot coffee, pakoda, samosa etc.

Shailender…!
